Tell us a little about your history and how you came to work at Urban Hub?
I’ve worked a variety of hospitality jobs over the years and have managed to gain a good range of skills and experience. I had set off to travel Europe on a one-way ticket a few years ago, unfortunately Covid brought me back home sooner than expected in late 2020.
Since returning to New Zealand I got back into hospitality but predominantly in functions and events which I really enjoy. I decided that where I really wanted to be was more in the planning and coordinating side of events, rather than just the hospitality side. This role at Urban Hub is perfect for me to learn and grow in my career and I’m happy that I found the job when I did.
What energizes you the most about being involved within the Urban Hub community?
The ability to be able to connect with a variety of brilliant people each day definitely makes me motivated and proud to be a part of this community. It’s a very pleasant atmosphere to be in, with plenty of community activities and always somebody around who is up for a chat.
Outside of work, what would we find you doing in your down time?
I love a good long walk and relaxing at home, as well as going out to see live music and catching up with friends. In the summer I try to go camping as much as possible and travel around, experiencing all the beautiful places around the country.
